I take to agree, I accept been playing pc games for along fourth dimension and recently I have had so many issues but loading a new game and playing information technology. Needless to say I would never have a problem like this with a Blizzard game. I took iv days of forum reading and aggrevation to get Historic period of Conan to work. Now facing the aforementioned forum reading nightmare with witcher EE. My drive volition no read the disc, the download will not download 100%, I become the error others have gotten, WHAT IS GOING ON?? The game looks good but I volition try 3 more fixes from forums and so backit goes to all-time buy and I am done with this visitor. The download site is in polish simply the game is sold internationally?? Is it me or are these companies not getting something right? I have 4 pc's dissimilar operating systems and I am not in IT and I dont plan on going to school for IT just and so I tin can play a game when I am home on my day off >< I by a 40.00 game I put it in the drive and await it to go and download like almost other games usually have washed in the history of gaming and here I am 2 days later playing csi on the forums and learning a new trade skill to simply play the DAM GAME!!!! I dont take to spend 40.00 to get aggrevation, there are many costless ways to accomplsih that.
any problems?
Yes. The dvd will not operate on my sons vista pc. We take never downloaded any emulators and I dont come across daemon or alcoholo120 anywhere on the pc/harddrive/etc. I put the dvd into my xp pc and it started rightup and worked fine, simply my pc is not built for gaming and the game is for my son. He has a vista pc with a ameliorate graphics card and more ram to handle a game like this. I tried the tages 3 or iv times nada. He has one dvd drive and nothing else on the pc. I wont buy a new bulldoze only for one game. I accept read through several forums and most of the posts and null seems to exist a gear up other than getting a new dvd drive which I wont do or having a new disk sent to me which obviously isnt the problem since it works on my xp pc. If there is a gear up maybe it should be highlighted or something becasue 38 pages of posts is giving me a headache and I havent even gotten to the download bug if I need to patch this when the disc eventually is recognized by my sons pc. what has happened to insert disc and go? The tech changes and then I have no desire to acquire all the jargon merely to play a game that I consider to be 'entertainment' so relearn it over again in 2 years when the tech changes again. Nosotros the consumer await the product to just work without us having to re-brainwash ourselves every fourth dimension we purchase a new game. the original witcher worked fine on my sons pc and we idea we were getting an upgrade and all we take gotten then far is at present three days of aggrivation. I dont want to learn a new trade skill I want to play a video game or hear that my son thinks this game is good. Console gaming gets a large thumbs upwards later our last two adventures with pc games....historic period of conan and the witcher (enhanced). ???

I will endeavour to mail the info you asked for when i get hoem from work and endeavour yet another series of fixes. on page 25 out of 38 on this thread so far and i dotn have the time for reading forums this closley for this long. cheers for your help in advance for the moderaters , and i would hope an upstart company would have doen alittle more homework with the actually application, they did great piece of work on the game it seems but angry consumers wont play an splendid game if they take to become through all this to make it work.

Hi,I've got the abrasive "Delight insert The Witcher Enhanced DVD" message. The problem is, my game is a (legal) digital download, thus I accept no DVD at all, which wasn't an issue before installing the EE Upgrade patch. My game is properly registered, and I've uninstalled Daemon Tool, without success.Has anyone any suggestions, apart from using a crack ?Thank yous.
I'one thousand running on WinXP (SP2). Interestingly, this message appears only after installing the hotfix. Before, the game have to launch merely crash immediately.........................A crack does not really assist me, the cinematics are all blackness...I'll try reinstalling the whole thing... maybe this unsignaled error thing during EE installation...An hotfix compatible with digital purchases would be nice, though.
Exactly the aforementioned problem hither. I take a legal downloaded version (gamesplanet/metaboli) and information technology worked till i installed the "merry christmas"- hotfix. http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=21010.0Everytime it asks for a ' "THE WITCHER ENHANCED"-DVD ' which I dont have.
I just signed up to say _______ YOU.Get-go of all, I spent $50 on this game. I got home, installed the game and was disappointed to find that despite being a single role player game, I had to download 1.5gigs of patches. That wasn't likewise bad, I've played MMORPGs then I was used to it.Then as I got excited to begin my adventure, I started receiving this DVD mistake. I uninstalled all ISO programs, reinstalled TAGES and did all of the SPTD instructions, to no avail. My DVD player is brand new and works great. Now, I am _____ out of $50. I can not find a solution to this problem and the lack of give-a-damn on the developers' side is infuriating. Release an official no-cd patch or ready your buggy piece of crap software.P.S. A double ____ YOU for the anti-ISO plan crap. A lot of people utilize ISO programs for legal purposes, such as myself (I shop games I've purchased as ISOs to save myself DVD hassles). Are y'all and so self-involved that you think the but reason an ISO plan would be running is to pirate your game, or do you just not give a damn about ________ on the usual processes of your customers' computers?WalMart is not going to take back opened software, are y'all going to give me my refund?[MOD]Watch your language dude[/Mod]

Showtime of all, your words would conduct more significance if you lot were a registered user and if you lot were talking with the same respect y'all would expect from usa.Second of all, if y'all desire to swear somebody exercise it on the OFFICIAL aqueduct at ATARI: http://world wide web.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=631 , and not hither. Now, the game works ok for me and other while DT/SPTD is installed so it must be something else.Read: Getting tech help on the forum and attach that PCWizard report every bit instructed ( apply the older version of PCWizard if you have problems with the newer one )
And what most the hotfix beingness apparently not compatible with digital purchases ?

each digital channel provider must adapt the hotfix for their distribution, or then i heard, then if a digital download, practise ask them almost the hotfix condition
I also already wrote a post but am still waiting for an answer (gamesplanet, DE). If anyone gets such a patch that works with download versions please tell u.s. here, maybe it works on any dl version.

I bought The Witcher (Enhanced Edition) from Amazon.com, loaded it as instructed, registered it as instructed, and downloaded the recommended patches. My problem is that every time I try to start information technology I get the message "Insert original dvd" (which is already in the drive anyhow) and then when I click "OK" I become a message that "The Witcher has stopped working and Windows volition close the program." I take a reasonably new laptop, running Vista 64 fleck; it meets or exceeds the minimum - albeit not optimum - standards for running the program. The weakest link is probably the GeForce Go 7600 graphics card but that should not stop the game from at least kick off. Tin can anyone assist me?
any DVD emulation installed? daemontools? alchohol120?try to run TAGES equally Admin twice, once to uninstall and again to reinstall: http://tagesprotection.com/main.htm?page=minimum.htm
running this footling app twice stock-still this error for me. thanks! this fix needs to exist stickied guys its not easy to observe information technology and I wait many folks have had this problem where they only need to reload these drivers.
Today I got this postal service from metaboli/gamesplanet:
leider haben wir noch keine Informationen seitens des Publishers, ob es einen solchen Hotfix für die Download-Version des Spiels geben wird.(unforunately we dont accept any information from the publisher if a hotfix will exist available for the download-version of the game)
which means that there is no sense in waiting for the hotfix because, later on 2 months, atari didnt tell metaboli or metaboli didnt ask atari or whatever... that sucks
Well, later on a calendar week or and so of searching for answers every bit to why my TWEE game kept asking me for the Original DVD thus never allowing me to play, I have read merely about every mail I could find and tried out a LOT of things to correct a problem that later I found out I didn't have. The solution I came upwardly with was this...rename my DVD bulldoze (that has the disc in it) to bulldoze "D"....I had renamed my DVD drive long ago when I re-formated/ re-partitioned my laptop. When I thought well-nigh why the disc wasn't beingness recognized was not about some emulation programs that may or may not have been on my reckoner or some copy protection device, etc. It was non recognizing the DVD considering whatever lawmaking the launcher sent out to observe the drive (even though it installed fine with my DVD drive name A) it only looked for bulldoze "D". If it didn't find the game disc in drive "D" or "D" was something else entirely, information technology gave me the error. So when I renamed my DVD drive dorsum to Drive "D", guess what...the damn thing loaded up just fine. Now I'thousand not that much of figurer geek to know if this solution will work all the fourth dimension. Just it worked in this case, and then far. At present I tin play the game and see if any of these other potential issues I take read about here occur.I actually hope this helps someone who may exist every bit frustrated every bit I was eace:
Hullo, I upgraded Witcher to EE, and it works fine. I empathize it besides removed the on-disc re-create protection, which is great since I don't like having to insert the disc.Withal, when I launch without disc, it beeps and says "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:." If it hit cancel or keep, information technology then says this once again. If I hit abolish or continue over again, the game then runs fine (without disc). Is there any style to suppress this mistake bulletin?Cheers!

the new hotfix is here: http://world wide web.thewitcher.com/forum/alphabetize.php?topic=21009.0some users reported this and a reinstall cured itby if it's just a button press i approximate it should exist okhow far did you go in game?
CD Projekt Ruddy:Now that the game has been out a while, have you lot considered releasing an updated patch that removes the need to have the DVD in the drive? I know it hasn't been several years yet, only it sure would be nice.
They've removed DVD protection with the 1.4 patch. Information technology's still there in the stock version of the EE though.
